I like watching this show, its funny and the cakes look good in the end, but I went to a bakery in Boston to get a Birtday cake for younger nephew and there cake of some cartoon spider shows not only looked better and more realistic , but everything on the cake was edible...
ace of cakes they are building cakes with wood and plastic to hold things up, and half of the cake is not food, so once i saw that i was unimpressed.
and watching the Cake Boss, he hand makes 100s of roses, and flowers that are all edible on his cakes, and uses no wood or plastic to hold up his great cakes..

My daughter and I are huge fans of this show, but I understand the Army mom's point of view. When this show was filmed, my son, who is also stationed at Schofield, was serving in Iraq. I, too, was hoping to see more of the base and the soldiers. I guess that's just what moms do.... it helps to make us feel closer to our family that is far away. Regardless, we love Duff and the crew!!

I was watching the show and was disappointed about not seeing more of the soldiers. My son is stationed there. He also works in the kitchen every day. I was surprised that you didn't show and use them in the baking of the cakes. My son has won awards for his decorating skills. Yes I know the show is about the cakes, but it's also about the heart of a person and what they love to do. Which is how my son is about his kitchen skills.
