SADNESS
December 6, 2006
Sadness... all you people think that Melrose deserved to win... but you're all wrong. "Givendrew" said that Melrose was the most real... but if any of you have ever taken a psychology class, you'd know what a duchene smile is... its a fake smile... you're cheeks smile, but the corners of your eyes are also supposed to turn upwards, everyone has a fake smile... and everytime I saw Melrose smile at one of the judges or a photographer, she was forcing every inch of that horrible full mouth smile. Eugena was great, but the judges were right. With a little bit of practice, she'll be on the runway in no time. Caridee was the true winner from the getgo. She had charisma, a good sense of humor and a gorgeous face. She's not the headcase either. Again back to psychology, it's pretty obvious Melrose was pretty obviously suffering from some sort of psychological disorder and she might consider seeing someone about that. YAY for Caridee! She truly deserved it. She worked hard and listened to the judges criticism and used it to her advantage. Over and over again, she was the only one that when Jay or a photographer was trying to help her, she LISTENED and then VOILA! she came out with a gorgeous shot over and over again.
America's Next Top Model is CARIDEE!!!

Biggesst Mistake in the Show's History!!!

I can't remember the writer's name who thanked you guys for freeing up her Wednesday nights, but unfortunately I must also express my gratitude for the same thing.
I am a mother of two teenagers who were diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome when they were in 1st and 2nd grade(s) (respectively). One girl and one boy, so I know first hand the challenges that these children face - not just growing up with this diabolical disorder but for the fact that unlike severely autistic children (ie: Rain Man) or children with Downs Syndrome, for the most part they 'appear' to be pretty much like everyone else. This is both a blessing and a curse because while they don't get the immediate prejudice that someone who is visibly disabled might experience, the disadvantages are that people don't have much patience with them nor are they as kind to them because they expect them to just sort of 'be normal' and say things to them like, 'what's your problem?'...'why are you so weird?', etc...
The thing that made the behavior of the other models, and many of the judges (most notably the really awful man from The Ford Agency) so despicable is the fact that if anyone connected with ANTM knew anything at all about the real specifics of autism, specifically Asperger Sydrome, they would have known that people who suffer with this disorder are not cruel, they almost can't be...they don't even think that way, so attacking her was akin to a group of adults attacking small children verbally. Actually I think it was worse.
What happened to Heather last night (or whenever this was originally shot) was simply acerbic. As a parent and former successful professional model (from age 12 to well into my 30's )
I was mortified at what transpired at Heather's expense over the past two weeks (at least the part that we saw on air). What I found the most ridiculous was that while she was wondering around trying to navigate China - CHINA for God's sake...other models and drivers not only saw her but took time to laugh, jeer and torment her - yet they didn't have any time to offer her a ride or any help at all...not even to make a phone call or anything...and this all took place with a Full Camera Crew filming the entire thing and no one helped...no one! Let's be real guys - you all know that there is no way Heather would have been left on her own to go to Go Sees and Auditions on her own....her mother, a manager, or even a paid personal assistant or chaperon would have been provided for her to make sure that she not only got where she needed to be but that she got there on time and fully in tact.
Top Models are provided everything else that they need to get through the day - Drugs, Alcohol, Uppers, Downers, Coaches, Babysitters, and whatever else it takes to make sure the client doesn't loose money and the agency doesn't loose the gig - let's not pretend that that isn't true because we both know that it is! Why would Heather have been any different?
You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for allowing this to take place. You lost us with this one. It's too bad because we were so surprised that the show gave her a shot that watching became a family affair...even the boys were watching - all of us rooting for Heather. All of America was rooting for Heather...you broke our hearts last night.
What's really amazing is that the only reason Heather got kicked off last night was because of Autism...there was no other reason to kick her off...she is stunning, she has a great look, she takes amazing photos, she is kind, sweet, funny, intelligent and determined...all of her issues/problems stemmed from the fact that she has autism.
Oh wait...I'm sorry....didn't you guys know that she was autistic? Oh ok then, that explains it...you guys didn't know...ok, well now I understand completely, because if you KNEW BEFORE you brought her on the show then what you guys did was just cruel.
Shame on all of you...all of you.

Not the Best Choice ...

It's obvious that Natasha should have been crowned America's Next Top Model ...like she said, she's symbolic of what America ia all about. At first I wanted Jaslene to win so badly, but then her true colors started to show. I think she is a little to drag queenish and she's too cocky. I didn't like how her, Dionne and Renee tried to set her up. Natasha never did was a trooper and I loved her positive attitude. She may have started out bad but goodness ...what an evolution of a woman. Jaslene was obsessed with being ANTM and like Tyra said, who knows what she may do if she lost, and it was her 2nd time around. Based on that mostly is why I think she won. ANTM is great, but no one ever really makes it that big ...out of the previous 7 cycles, only two have made it big time - Adrianne and Eva ...so honestly I don't think Jaslene will be anywhere near as popular.
Go Natasha!!!!
