Gossip Girl
"Gossip Girl" is the TV adaptation of the breakout book series by Cecily von Ziegesar. Every step (and misstep) that the privileged prep school teens of Manhattan's Upper East Side take is well documented on the website of the all-knowing Gossip Girl. No one knows the true identity behind Gossip Girl, but everyone in this glamorous and exclusive world depends on her for the latest juicy rumors. The most recent scoop is that gorgeous queen bee and notorious party girl Serena van der Woodsen has returned to the city from a stint at boarding school. Serena's sudden appearance upsets her former BFF Blair Waldorf, since Blair is by no means about to give up her position at the top of the popularity food chain. This is just the tip of the drama iceberg and Gossip Girl will be sure to dish up all the details. more
The Hills
"Laguna Beach" is so yesterday. It's all about Lauren aka L.C., Heidi, Whitney, and Audrina over in "The Hills." It's as much fun to watch these Hollywood social butterflies as it is to gab about them! All the girls have their fair share of hookups, break-ups and drama with friends and their budding careers. After hitting the dating scene hardcore, Lauren is ready to abandon her single life and settle down with Mr. Right. Her ex Jason is struggling to put his life together again and wants Lauren's help. Please, please don't get back with him, Lauren. We're begging you. Don't make the same mistake again and end up like Heidi: without a best friend to turn to and stuck playing house with a not-so-great boyfriend. Ewww, we all despise Spencer and will never forgive Heidi for choosing him over Lauren. more
Desperate Housewives
Secrets. Lies. Crime. Deceit. It's all in a day's (house)work for the ladies of "Desperate Housewives." And they're not your average women. Susan is the man-hunting divorcee, Lynette is the business exec now working harder at being a mom, Gabrielle is the ex-model turned ex-wife, Bree is the seemingly perfect homemaker with constant trouble brewing, and Edie can't seem to stay away from men –- all men. Between affairs, pregnancies, murders, and all out wackiness, life is never dull on Wisteria Lane. Oh yeah, and the show is narrated by a dead woman who committed suicide. And we thought Melrose Place was wild... more
America's Next Top Model
Hasn't every little girl dreamed, at one time or another, of becoming a model? C'mon admit it. "America's Next Top Model" shows us what we missed out on by not being 6 feet tall and 110 pounds. Three-hour long make-up applications, grueling photo sessions, living under the same roof with other models, and non-stop advice from Tyra Banks. We'll stick with our desk jobs, thanks. But of course we'll still be tuning in to see who wins the modeling contract. more
Project Runway
We girls always knew that fashion designers were the true rock stars. "Project Runway" has turned the haute society of couture and style into addictive TV. This reality show is brimming with talented and nutty characters who participate in creative challenges –- a combination produces all kinds of drama. Remember when Keith was accused of cheating? Tim Gunn was not too happy about that and so Keith was not allowed to "carry on." Heading into the finals at New York Fashion Week, another contestant was accused of cheating. We all held our breaths as Tim called the finalists to tell us whether not Jeffrey was still in the competition. And who can forget Santino? With his quirky outbursts and super sewing skills, he's the perfect addition to any slumber party! "Project Runway" has turned our obsession for clothing into a cultural phenomenon. more
Ugly Betty
Every girl has had one of those days where they feel just downright ugly. That's why we love "Ugly Betty." Every day is an ugly day for Betty, and yet she tries her best and more often than not comes out on top. Betty represents the everyday woman. She isn't perfect, but doesn't need to be. The show is packed with over-the-top storylines and soap opera-like surprises that make for great water-cooler talk with the girls. Oh my gosh! Daniel's brother isn't actually dead! Can you believe Alex is a now a girl? We're all crossing our fingers in hopes that Betty and Henry will work things out, because who doesn't love a happy ending? Amongst the backstabbing and love triangles, "Ugly Betty" is a feast for the shopping-crazed eyes with its bouquet of brightly colored clothing. Taking inspiration from the show, we've learned that throwing a bit of "ugly" into our wardrobe choices is fashion-forward and can turn that ho-hum outfit into a unique fashion statement. more
Lipstick Jungle
Talk about modern women. "Lipstick Jungle" is the story of three high-powered Manhattanites -- a movie mogul, a magazine editor, and a fashion designer -- who are all at the top of their games. That doesn't mean there's no time for fun. Victory is dating a billionaire, Wendy is trying to balance a family, and Kim is after a much younger man. Tune in to check out the new millennium's fearless females. They're business-minded, they're bad-ass, and they're best friends. more
The Simple Life
Life for Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie is not so simple. Paris just did a stint behind bars and an orange jumpsuit has Nicole's name on it already. Luckily for the celebutantes, their tasks on the "Simple Life" have been nothing but wholesome fun. It's amusing to watch the girls experiencing things they've never encountered before. The best part is that the more wild and brave Nicole usually puts her own twisted style to the situation that usually involves nudity or sexual innuendoes. A rich girl here and a rich girl there make hilarious TV for girls everywhere! more
Gilmore Girls
Girls rule. Cute, fast-talking "Gilmore Girls" that is. Daughter Rory has a hip, thirty-something mom, rich grandparents, and is smart enough to get into Yale. Mom Lorelai, who runs an inn in the bucolic Connecticut town of Stars Hollow, may have accidentally gotten pregnant as a teenager, but that mistake turned into her best friend –- Rory. Throw in boyfriends, drama, and the occasional family falling out, and this is one girlie good show. more
Sex and the City
In a world filled with buddy comedies, "Sex and the City" provides those of us with two X-chromosomes a good dosage of female-friendly TV. Besides checking out the hot male guest stars and gushing over the newest fashion dos and don'ts, you and your girlfriends will have a laughter-filled night as true feelings about men and sex are exposed through personality tests. Which character do you identify with most? Are you the career girl Miranda, the prim and proper Charlotte, the man-hungry Samantha, or the always-trying-to-figure-out-love, introspective Carrie? "Sex and the City" provides a fantasy world for women, where four successful, powerful ladies battle the tribulations of love and life in the Big Apple in their newest, most expensive Manolos. more
The O.C.
When a boy from the wrong side of the tracks ends up in the wealthy world of Orange County, what's the troubled teen to do? Move in with a high society family who lives down the street from Mischa Barton, of course. All kinds of juicy teen angst ensues in this beachfront paradise where not everything is as it seems. "The O.C." has something for every girl -– from cool music to hip fashions to hot guys. We'll meet you poolside after the show, girls! more
Dawson's Creek
Not too long ago, before she was Mrs. Tom Cruise and mom to baby Sure, the tabloids' all-time favorite celebrity kid of all time, Katie Holmes played tomboy Joey Potter on this Emmy Award winning teen drama. Set in a New England seaside town, "Dawson's Creek" follows the trials and tribulations of a group of teenagers, including Joey's best friend since childhood, the show's hunky namesake Dawson Leery. The show is also sprinkled with bits of controversy. Nothing is racier than a teacher-student love affair! "Dawson's Creek" has all of the ingredients for the perfect young adult show: teen romance, a beachfront backdrop, and tons of ups and downs. Who could ask for anything more? more
Beverly Hills 90210
Remember the Peach Pit? The beach house? West Beverly High? If you do, then you're an official "Beverly Hills 90210" junkie (and really, who isn't?). Relive the fun in L.A.'s richest enclave with Brenda, Brandon, Kelly, Dylan and the rest of the gang who -- lucky for us -- are frozen in time thanks to the world of reruns. But before you start laughing at their scrunchies, shoe boots, and crop tops, don't forget, you dressed like that in high school too! more
The Bachelor
Sure, most of us wouldn't want to have to live with 24 women we barely know, all vying for the same guy, but it sure is fun to watch. The infighting! The backstabbing! The mascara-laced tears! The concept of "The Bachelor" is simple: Each season 25 young and attractive women selected as bachelorettes spend the season going on group and individual dates with a handsome -- and often wealthy -- eligible bachelor. Week by week this modern-day Prince Charming chooses women to eliminate until he ends up with the girl of his dreams. Tragically, most of The Bachelor's couples have broken up soon after the cameras stopped rolling, but every fairytale's gotta come to an end sooner or later, right? more
One Tree Hill
"One Tree Hill" is chick TV central. There's always something to talk about whether it's onscreen romance or off-screen break-ups. If we didn't know that Chad Michael Murray would turn out to be a cheating husband on wife and co-star Sophia Bush, we would still be swooning for the hottie. But amidst the gossip that "One Tree Hill" produced, what girls love most are the vast journeys of the "Tree Hill" kids. Lucas use to play ball by the river and now he's climbed the social ladder through his skills as a basketball player and the scandal of sharing the same father as Nathan. Nathan was the bad boy jock whose life got turned upside down (for the better) by the girl next door Haley. Haley even got a status bump when she joined Peyton and Brooke on the cheerleading squad and was a pop star temporarily. And best of all, we've followed the friendship of Peyton and Brooke through its deepest moment and now to their time of complete estrangement. TV with characters whose social circles are constantly changing is TV that should be shared with friends. more
The Real Housewives of Orange County
Fake boobs and fake hair and fake nails, oh my! "The Real Housewives of Orange County" follows five real-life ladies who live in the gated community of Coto de Caza in America's most famous county. Jo is a twenty-something single sex kitten with a party streak (wait, isn't this show supposed to be about housewives?). Jana is a former Playboy centerfold dealing with three teenage kids, a troubled marriage and a real estate career (hmmm, she's not a housewife either?). Tammy has fallen on hard times and actually has to—gasp!—rent a house. Laura is in the middle of creating her own personal Brady Bunch by blending her family with her boyfriend's, and Vicki is a perfectionist workaholic. They might not be traditional housewives, but even with their jobs, these wacky women still find plenty of time for Pilates, pampering, cattiness, and cocktails. This is some truly self-indulgent TV, ladies, so dig in! more
