TV Guide Sports Report - Jason Taylor Quick Steps to the Washington Redskins
Jason Taylor is going to Washington. The Dancing With the Stars runner-up was traded Sunday to the Redskins after an extended standoff with the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins, specifically executive vice president Bill Parcells, were unhappy with Taylor's decision to choose the paso doble and foxtrot over pre-season preparations.
With the trade, the Dolphins picked up a second-round draft pick in 2009 and a sixth-round pick in 2010 from the Redskins.
The 33-year-old defensive end has played all 11 of his NFL seasons in Miami. He is the team's all-time leader in sacks and was named to six Pro Bowl teams. In a statement Taylor said: "I love Miami [and] will always cherish my 11 years with the Dolphins. Having said that, I'm looking forward to meeting with [team owner] Mr. [Dan] Snyder and getting to know my new coaches and teammates. I'm just proud to be representing our nation's capital as a Redskin."
