I am addicted to the show
November 29, 2006
Loved the show, down to earth rough and tough as I imagined the Wild West must have been. It's not candy coated as Gunsmoke was, but that was shown at a different time and age. I like that it is not censored. The story line is very interessting and one is left wondering what will happen next. It has everything, sex, violence, some historical value and is just all around a great story.
The characters like Sverengen, Bullock, the Doc are great and Calamity Jane hilarious. Wild Bill Hickock just as I imagined he would have been.

I can't believe you're not going to film anymore.

I really like Deadwood, the grittiness, the verbiage of speach, costumes and the characters. This show and the Sapranos are the only ones I watch. Who cares about all those tired rehashed police drama's.
With the limited shows that are out there worth viewing, either national or cable I would have thought that a good show with a large audience was proof enought that people want something different.

TV sucks
November 24, 2009
i only recently finished watching all three seasons of deadwood, not knowing that george hearse coaching down the thoroughfare would be the last i'd see of this beyond awesome show. i didn't have hbo when it was airing. i truly believe that, overall, this series will be a long-running case study on how to write, direct, produce (and all other elements involved) and film such a masterful piece of art. as a lay person i know little-to-nothing of the industry, but i do appreciate good writing. wow. amazing.

The finest...

show ever produced by HBO. Powerful story lines. Excellent casting. I cancelled HBO 1 week after the show was taken off the air. To this day won't subscribe because of this.
