Too much sex
September 23, 2008
I really like the new show. I just finished viewing the pilot and I found it exciting and wish to continue viewing.
Except that I might of preferred night rider's driver to be older (i'll adjust in time) or at least with a higher IQ (his the hero not the comedy relief).
There was too much sexual content shown on this program. I happily watched night rider as a child with my parents. Yet if I had children I would Not find this show suitable for them. Interests in sexual activates was shown and spoken through out the episode. If not with the main characters then with the co-worker as they toyed with one another. Not to mention the information night rider dialoging his driver's horny reaction was to a Huge surprised that it would even be permitted on what is considered a Family program.
The story line is great and interesting.

The Same but Very Different
August 1, 2008
This Knight Rider is definitely very much like the original series and if you are someone watched alot of the older series from the start, and even rewatches it, you can see the similarities. The difference is the upgrading it for a more modern era. The cargo plane changed out for the tractor trailer allows for global coverage. The new voice is also a factor of modern day involvements as GM blocked the original voice, so we get Val Kilmer instead. The new, young and ruggedly sexy 'Mike Knight' fits a more today type standards and his child hood friend adds the sexy tech genius who knows how to fix the car to replace Bonnie. Tossing in some new characters to bring more of today's culture, such as the sexy lesbian FBI agent and the comic relief of Mike's friend for that campy feel. It's all there, just a new format. Granted, I saw the original movie and liked the morphing it did, but if you go to NBC's website and see the trailer for the episode that will be released for it on Sept 24th, you see that they've cheesed the insides of KITT and the transformation it does from Pick-up to Mustang looks more like something straight out of Michael Bay's Transformers. Still, all in all, it looks like they've done a wonderful job reviving this classic hit, especially with the focus of KITT using more alternative fuel sources.

Think About It
September 8, 2008
The pilot was just that a 'pilot' just a simple script with direct connections to the past Michael Knight & KITT however a twist & a continuation with the son & a revamped Val Kilmer voiced KITT. You have to give the writers, producers, & director credit because they remained true & mindful to the original series unlike the Bionic Woman. ( I don't know where they were headed with that series, though the CGI & effects were decent) I mean seriously what can you expect, David H. is over 50 in a 2007 Mustang that's not realistic, he stamped his blessing on the show by giving which validated Mike Knights presence. Now in this series you may see him cameo as a mentor or a guide or even some type of Father figure, it works effortlessly. SO In summary, you have a 2008-9 Mustang, with the son of the orignal series & sick CGI. I mean the former Trans Am is discontinued GM has rights to the original KITT voice so they killed the whole idea for another generation so why not link up with Ford. You can't use an import, you can't use a Corvette it's too expensive & imagine an $80,000 car speeding across a TV sitcom screen., not realistic at all. (Hell, Michael Bay in transformers only used the Camero concept car because an actually VW bug the specs of it transforming didn't work & besides VW bug holds a feminine persona.) The 'wow factor' is lost & it would be too flash & bring too much attention so a Mustang an average 'safe' good american choice. Yes, the script, the acting & the off-beat monotone jokes are nothing Academy Award winning but a great effort was put forward then meshing the morphing CGI at this time being mind blowing, this should literally evolve as we watch this series. Takes me back to being a kid, I won't lie Val is cool but the original voice is classic. Too bad GM are not cooperative hmmm I guess people are buying GM cars left & right regardless of inflating gas prices.. GO figure...Go Knight!!

Terrible
September 28, 2008
If they were trying to hold on the cheese of the original series, then they could have done it a lot better. The story was throw away. The writing/dialog was pathetic. The acting was even worse.
Why do you need a create a new back story for the lead when you just had a 2 hr pilot movie? Why do you need to have KITT change into a souped up ground effects POS? Why are they playing basketball in the middle of the show?
I'll give it a couple more shows, but that was terrible.
