    Live from New York........

    November 24, 2009
I am a long time fan of the show. Some of my favorite comedians got their start on this show Steve Martin,Bill Murray,Chevy Chase,Chris Rock,Mike Meyers,Tina Fey. Weekend Update may have been started by Chevy Chase but the man that did it best was in my opinion was Dennis Miller. He haa a talent for sarcastic wit. Oh could forget Fernando (You look marvelous dahling) one of Billy Crystal's best recurring roles. Steve Martins King Tut is still legendary today. I still remember Eddie Murphy's skits and can't get enough of them. My wife loves Mr Robinsons Neighborhood although she never had seen one till she met me.Her favorite one is the one with Mr T! Of course what would a review of Saturday Night Live be if I did not mention my all time favorite WAYNE'S WORLD party time excellent. #1 above all the rest is it is live! Though that does not mean unrehersed. But the fact that what you see on the TV screen is the same as what is happening that very second is definitely admirable. That prat falls Chevy Chase did when he was on the show was always great. Of course the Samurai skits that John Belushi did always make me laugh so hard I have trouble stopping especially when he did Samurai Hotel with Richard Pryer it is so sad that neither one of us are alive today. William Shatner with the Get a Life skit is so perfect it's scary. I once went to a scifi confrence where Shatner was speaking and when he asked for questions from the audience it was almost a exact duplicate! Andy Kaufman and his Mighty Mouse lip synch is hilarious. Church Lady,Garth, and the George Bush impressions by Dana Carvey were so good.A little known fact but if you check the cast of the original Halloween i think it is though it might be Halloween 2 you will find that Dana Carvey played a bit part as a deputy.Considering that the killer in Halloween was Mike Meyers and Wayne Campbell was played by Mike Meyers who's best friend was Garth played by Dana Carvey I just wander why they never did a spoof of the Halloween movies with Wayne and Garth. Another of my favorite skits had to be Victoria Jackson and her I am Not a bimbo.Of course Hans and Franz were hilarious especially when Arnold Schwarzanager showed up .

Saturday Night Live Loses Its Edge

    October 27, 2009
The Season Opening skit with President Obama was hilarious. Since the liberal media were complained about it, the show has tiptoed around Obama like a frightened school girl.

I have watched the show my entire adult life and lampooning the country's politicians is what it does best. Now SNL is too cowardly to be irreverent - or interesting.

It was a good run, but I'm finished watching the show. So sad.

    Hilarious Season!

SNL has a truly funny season. The Obama skits are hilarious! Some folks just need to lighten up. It is a COMEDY show! They make fun of everyone; there are no exceptions to their comedy pokes. The hosts even make fun of themselves for goodness sakes!

    Can't Get enough of it

    October 19, 2009
I absoultly LOVE the Obama skits on SNL. The only problem with SNL is that you could have made the noble peace prize a LOT funnier.SNL keep making funny skits like the mocking obama's lack of accomplishments. Now that was funny.

    SNL misses mark.

    October 13, 2009
The key to good comedy is that it be funny and fairly accurate. The Obama "Do-nothing" jag satisfies neither requirement. A cheap joke to be sure, that has more to do with politics, SNL's turn from the funny, and sour grapes by special interests on the pansy-ass left. Thing abt being Black is you can never do enough for White people. We're the "scary monster" or your big Black Uncle only alive to protect you. Obama's not your puppet, whipping boy, [profane] Jim, or your savior. Get ya mind right. Maybe it's just me, but SNL is truly stale and unfunny of late. Maybe they're saving money on writers and talent, but the K.Wiig skits, Italian talk show host, and other played out, dry bits, show that originality and wit are now only SNL anachronisms. The new season has only a passing relation to humor, and the Obama stuff, while wildly off the mark and unsubstantiated by fact, gets buzz in a snarky, "Hater-ade" drinking society.Amongst people of little accomplishment, attacking someone who is actually doing something on many concrete and abstract fronts must be comforting It's akin to saying your wristwatch is doing little because your fixated on the speed of the slow moving dials and not the frenetic internal workings of the clock.Winning a Nobel Peace Prize simply for not being a paranoid, backward thinking, fearfilled, middle aged White person must be particularly galling to many people. Once again, racism takes many seemingly benign forms, including marginalization, SNL's tired joke being a furtherance of the University of Arizona(?) saying that Obama isn't "accomplished" enough to warrant an honorary degree from a school with no claim to excellence in education. Well, the current iteration of SNL similarly has no claim to comedic deft or excellence. SNL has gone through many periods of unimaginative, humorless offerings and come back strong. One hopes this is the case this time.
