2nd of the 4 Star Trek Series, Best of the new 3

    October 30, 2009
This series gave a fresh perspective to the Star Trek epilouges. It moved the series to stories at least a half century into the future and was better that Deep Space Nine.
Ranking of the New Star Treks Series.

    1. Next Generation
    2. Voyager
    3. Enterprise
    4. Deep Space Nine

    Overrated by its obsessive fans

    October 20, 2009
This series is mostly turgid and boring. Too many plots involve the characters personal issues and not enough action. Cold opens often fall flat. Aliens look fake. Wesley is unbearable.

However, not a bad series, but not as strong overall as TOS since a copy of something is always degraded. Better than Enterprise and Stargate.

P.S. If you haven't figured this out already, there never will be another TNG film.

TNG is off line, but not forgotten.

    August 18, 2009
my likes for the show,is the new design of the enterprise.exspecially, the holodeck.I also injoy the characters as well as the actors, who play them.mostly, the unity and the foundation of togetherness of a strong family bound.Their greates challege of all,is to learn, grow, and become more than what they are.something to live by.I beleave, that gene rodenberry dream can become a reality;only we as human can try alittle harder with ourselves. My dislikes,I wish the show would kept on boldly go where no man have gone befor.Thank you

A classic that had a great run

    November 14, 2008
Having been a Star Trek fan for more than 40 years, I was delighted but somewhat skeptical that another Star Trek weekly series was being launched. The campiness of the original was great when I was twelve, but was not going to work as I approached middle-age. Don't get me wrong; the original was a great show with greater writing, but struggled to excel as it did under terrible constraints.
The Next Generation's success was due to its not trying to recreate the original, but to take on an entirely new style and crew along with strong writing. The subsequent Star Trek spinoffs have enjoyed far less success because the writing broke down (trying to be mini-TNG's).
The hope in the future that Gene Roddenberry imbued us with weekly when we feared our fate may be to get vaporized by the Russians at any time was a welcome break from the casualty lists and the nightly news. Something TNG got right was: Majel Barrett was much better as Lwaxana Troi and the Enterprise computer than as Nurse Chapel. Both shows are still a great watch in syndication. Thank you, Gene.
