Episode 3 Originally aired: July 20, 2009The families leave Missouri and head out into the prairies of Kansas and Oklahoma to see buffalo and the actual setting of "Little House on the Prairie." The Dads must step up to the plate at the "King of the Road" BBQ challenge. The chefs whose burgers do not stand up to the family taste test will face the "End of the Road" challenge where one family's journey will end.

Episode 6 Originally aired: August 10, 2009The three remaining families take a detour off Route 66 to the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas where they get a special performance by Penn and Teller. This leg of the journey also includes a trip to one of the man made wonders of the world - the Hoover Dam - where the families compete in The King of the Road challenge. The winners of the challenge then compete head-to-head for a night to remember in Vegas.

Episode 7 Originally aired: August 17, 2009The competition intensifies among the remaining three families as they cross into California and fight to secure a spot in the final two. As the end draws near and the stakes increase, rivalries amongst the families heat up. From Chicago to California, they have had an amazing journey across America along Route 66, but now the pressure is on and they have their eye on the prize.

Episode 8 Originally aired: August 24, 2009After traveling 3000 miles, only two families remain to battle it out in the Ultimate King Of The Road challenge. As they drive down Route 66 toward the California coast, tempers fly and prove to be getting in the way. In the end, the DiSalvatore family wins the competition.
