Based on Amazing Novels

Charlaine Harris is the author of the Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Mysteries. I have read them all and they're a fantastic read. At the moment there are seven books and the eighth is coming out May 1, 2007. Each book is fairly short, I read them in one afternoon, but packed with drama, romance, and action. If the tv show turns out to be as good as the books are then I might have another weekly show to watch. Let's just hope that it's not on the same night as Grey's Anatomy.

The best show on TV!

Once you watch True Blood, you thirst for more. If you like Interview with a Vampire or any thing similar, you will love this show. The best show on TV in a long time.

Great adaptation

I'm a fan of the Sookie Stackhouse series and the television series absolutely catches the tone ,and characters, of the books that I love so much .There were a few things that was in the television show that was not in the book but that is understandable they have to draw things out after all there is only ,like, 7 & some books out so far .( and they are not very thick books at all )

I have noticed that other posters are comparing this new show to Moonlight. I am very disappointed that Moonlight was cancelled, but this show will be based on an amazing series of novels that is NOTHING like Moonlight. I have read all of the books in the series, and I love the books. Therefore, I can't wait for the show to premiere! The books in no way relate to the type of vampires in Moonlight. It's a completely different take. I am also happy that True Blood will be on HBO so that it can to justice to the graphic novels!!! Moonlight lovers should give this show a chance!!!!

I'm addicted!

This show is so beautifully written and the actors are all equally beautiful. Stephen Moyer is hotter than hot. He does such a great job being the sensitive and strong man (albeit a vampire) and the relationship b/w him and Sookie is what keeps me looking forward to the next show. It's a long week between episodes! And I'm not one to get addicted to shows, either. It's a "must watch" show.
